The frame holding the stone is entirely made of 18k yellow gold, but the craftsmanship shines through with different finishes applied to various parts, creating both glossy and matte textures.
　
The motif designed to embrace the picture agate uses various techniques to carefully express the textures of the cat's fur, flowers, leaves, railing, and vines.
Since only the parts of the picture agate that resemble a landscape are selected and dyed, no two pieces have the same pattern or color.

Picture agate is created by carefully selecting and cutting only the very small parts of high-quality agate rough, mined in southern Brazil, that resemble a landscape, then carefully coloring and heat-treating each layer over approximately one month per color.
Because picture agate uses natural patterns, no two pieces have the exact same design, making each one a unique work of art.
This artistic approach of selecting and coloring stones according to their natural imagery requires extraordinary skill and craftsmanship that is extremely rare worldwide.
Biichi Iguchi II was honored by the Japanese government as a Contemporary Master Craftsman for this exceptional gemstone technique.
